Amanda Balltrip is a voice instructor located in downtown Somerset. Her formal training from the University of Kentucky Opera Theater led her to sing at such places as Lincoln Center in New York, the Royal Academy of Music in Dublin, Ireland, and Bogotá, Colombia. Her focus is now on her students and bringing music to the youth of Kentucky’s 5th Congressional District.
She teaches locally at Balltrip Voice Studio, as an adjunct at University of the Cumberlands, and for Kentucky’s Governor’s School for the Arts. Amanda is the founder of the Academy of Allied Musicians, a new non-profit based in the Cumberland region that ensures that passion and desire for the musical arts is nurtured and realized in young minds regardless of socioeconomic barriers. She’s is honored to be part of the 30th Anniversary of MMF!
